The Australian Academy of Science has advised that a planned trial of cattle grazing in Victoria's Alpine National Park is 'scientifically flawed' and should not proceed, in a submission to the Victorian government.
The Academy submission, which was compiled and reviewed by experts in biodiversity and environmental science, states the trial should not go ahead as it will likely to have 'unacceptable adverse impacts' on national heritage and threatened species.
The submission also raised concerns around the scientific value of the trial in regards to bushfire management and the trial's lack of scientific rationale.
