- Splitting water – electrolysis is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.
- Lemon power – students make a battery from a lemon.

- Hydrogen car – a number of simple activities for students about hydrogen cars based on an article by Karl Kruszelnicki.

US Department of Energy
- H2 educate student guide – a two-week multidisciplinary unit that includes a fuel cell simulation, element modeling, an electrolysis experiment and hydrogen in society jig-saw. The unit looks at the energy in the United States and the role of hydrogen as a fuel. It is based around a kit but could be easily adapted for use without the kit. A Teacher Guide is also available.
