Dr Alan Fleming obtained his PhD from the University of Tasmania and has currently a post-doctoral researcher in the Ocean Wave Energy group at the Australian Maritime College National Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics. His research interests include renewable energy technologies (particularly wave energy), particle imaging velocimetry and other image-based measurement techniques. 

Alan and the Marine Renewable Energy team at the Australian maritime College are currently collaborating with Swinburne University under an Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) on a project which will assist developers and government in planning wave energy converter farms.
