Meteorologist Dr John Zillman has shaped science and innovation policy in Australia and internationally, and contributed significantly to raising global awareness of climate change. He became a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 2006. From 1978 to 2003, Dr Zillman was Director of the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and was President of the World Meteorological Organization from 1995 to 2003.
