By Professor Bob Williamson AO FAA FRS, former Secretary Science Policy 2009‒13
We often wonder: how do members of the Academy fill their days when they retire? Some take the opportunity to spend time in innovative ways, trying to implement some of the initiatives they did not have time for when busy in their careers. Many students are vibrant and keen to help with projects that require transfer of scientific knowledge from experts to the community. Professor Roger Short and his colleagues illustrate just such a commitment, which is making a big difference in teaching sex to teachers, who will in turn use the information when they are teaching sex education and reproduction in the classroom.
Note: Fellows are encouraged to contribute brief articles about their work, or the work of colleagues, to this Newsletter.
