The Academy’s National Committee for Earth Sciences is offering funding support to assist early- and mid-career Australian and New Zealand geoscience researchers (EMCRs) from Oceania (Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Island nations) who will attend the 37th International Geological Congress (IGC) in Busan, South Korea on 25–31 August 2024. Up to 10 grants will be awarded to a maximum value of $3,000 towards the cost of attendance.

The Academy is now accepting applications for the 2025 Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Mobility Grants. This program offers a unique opportunity to advance your career through collaborative projects with top scientists at leading-edge institutes based in France (in any of the natural sciences) and other European countries (in chemistry and biology). With grants up to $7,000 towards airfare and accommodation, expenses are supported to visit for periods of between 14 and 28 days. Supported by the Rod Rickards and the Bede Morris memorial funds, and a generous donation by the Embassy of France to Australia, these grants honour two of Australia’s scientific legends and aim to foster international research networks for Australian EMCRs.

This prize is open to anyone and can be awarded to either single or shared for closely related fundamental contributions. The prize recipient is recommended by the board of The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.

These prizes recognise and reward scientists who are conducting excellent and sustained work focused on stem cell research. They are awarded to one male and one female stem cell researcher who have been working in Australia and are 5–10 years past their PhD or MD (research-based). The prize is $60,000 each.

The SQA PhD Scholarships are open to both international and domestic students for undertaking research projects that are co-designed and supervised by researchers from UNSW Sydney and CSIRO. These scholarships provide a stipend of up to $35,000 per annum, along with access to career development funding and exclusive benefits.
