The iconic Shine Dome, home of the Australian Academy of Science, was damaged in a severe hailstorm in January 2020. Significant works, including recladding of the copper roof, have restored our nationally heritage listed building and improved its longevity and energy efficiency.
To celebrate the completed works, the Governor-General of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) will officially reopen the building on Monday 27 June at 5.30pm AEST.
