Dr Erin Hoare plays for Geelong Cats and is a former Australian Netballer. She is also a psychologist and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Deakin University's Food and Mood Centre. Erin will discuss her experience as a successful elite athlete, a psychologist and a researcher.
Associate Professor Rochelle Eime's research combines sports management, health promotion, behavioural epidemiology and big data analytics. She leads the Sport and Recreation Spatial project, a collaborative venture of Federation and Victoria Universities, which looks at sport participation, population demographics and population health. She will discuss the current data, trends and initiatives in sport participation in Australia.
Jess Tavrou is a Football Analyst at Carlton Football Club with degrees in Sports Engineering and Football Performance. Hear from Jess about how maths is used each week to build game plans for the club. Whether it’s team selection, player rotations, match ups or formations, she analyses every team in the competition to identify patterns and strategies that might offer insight into how to approach the match.
