March 27, 2015

The Australian Academy of Science has elected two internationally recognised leaders in science as Corresponding Members.

Professor Bruce Stillman, President of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, USA, and Professor Brian Lawn of National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA, have been elected for their attainments and outstanding contributions to science. Both were born and educated in Australia.

“On behalf of all the Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science I congratulate and welcome our two new Corresponding Members,” said Academy President, Professor Suzanne Cory.

“This honour is a fitting recognition of their outstanding contributions to science internationally, and of their strong ties with Australia.”

The two new Corresponding Members join just 25 other living recipients of this high honour, including Professor Elizabeth Blackburn, Sir David Attenborough, Professor Lord Bob May of Oxford, and Professor Terence Tao.
