Join us to kick-start the 2019 Canberra Speaker Series— Changing Lives with Science.
At the age of 16, Eliza Ault-Connell (pictured) lost her fingers and legs after being diagnosed with meningococcal disease. Since then, her life has been changed by science in many ways—including cutting-edge prosthetics technology. Eliza is now a Paralympian, a mother of three, a marathon runner, and a director of Meningococcal Australia.
We will also hear from Associate Professor Kate Fox of RMIT about her remarkable work in 3D printing for medical applications. From designing exoskeletons to using new materials such as diamonds, Kate will take us through recent advances and discuss how this new tech is transforming the lives of many.
