On 25 February 2022, the Australian Academy of Science provided a submission to the Senate Environment and Education Legislative Committee inquiry into the Australian Research Council (Ensuring Research Independence) Bill 2018. The Academy spoke in favour of the Bill, and outlines the necessary reforms needed to maintain integrity and confidence in the Australian Research Council’s grant review processes.
