Global Science and Technology Diplomacy Fund - Strategic Element

International partnerships are essential for building Australia’s science and research capabilities and creating global opportunities for our industries to thrive

The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE), in collaboration with the Australian Academy of Science, is proud to deliver round two of the Australian Government’s Global Science and Technology Diplomacy Fund – Strategic Element.

Opening in 2025, round two offers $6.3 million in grants to grow international collaboration in our region, enhance Australia’s standing as a science and technology leader, and drive innovation and commercialisation in priority areas. 

Grants from AUD $100,000 to $1,000,000 are available for eligible Australian organisations collaborating on key areas of science and technology with priority partner countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

Projects must focus on one of five priority themes and include at least one priority partner country:

Priority themes

• advanced manufacturing
• artificial intelligence
• quantum computing
• hydrogen production
• RNA (including mRNA) vaccines and therapies.

• Brazil
• Indonesia
• Japan
• Republic of Korea
• Malaysia
• New Zealand
• Singapore
• Thailand 
• Vietnam
