Nominations and applications are now open for the Academy’s 2024 honorific awards, research conferences, research awards and travelling fellowships.
The closing date for honorific awards is 1 May and for funding opportunities 1 June.

The Australian Academy of Science invites applications from Australian early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) for the France and Europe Mobility Grants Program.
The EMCR mobility grants, supported by two memorial funds, are intended to strengthen international research networks and linkages by providing support (up to A$7,000) for Australian researchers to travel to France and other countries in Europe, to work with leading researchers at major science and technology organisations for between 14 and 28 days.
The Bede Morris Memorial Fund supports Australian EMCRs to conduct research in collaboration with a French research organisation in any field of the natural sciences. The Rod Rickards Memorial Fund supports Australian EMCRs to conduct research in collaboration with a European research organisation in the areas of chemistry or biology.
Candidates must have a PhD degree at time of application, with the degree having been conferred no more than 15 years prior to the grant application deadline.
Applications close 9 am (AEST) 10 May 2023.

Awarded to an individual who has made outstanding contribution to the advancement of research in biology of genomes. The prize consists of a medal and JPY¥10 million.

The Tall Poppy Science Awards were created to recognise and celebrate Australian intellectual and scientific excellence and to encourage younger Australians to follow in the footsteps of our outstanding achievers. Nominees must have graduated with their PhD between three and 10 years of the nomination closing date.

The Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences Jian Zhou Medal is awarded annually to a rising star of Australian health and medical science who is making a significant impact in translational medical science, primarily working in Australia. The Medal is awarded at the Academy’s annual meeting each October and recipients receive financial support for their travel costs to enable them to attend.
