The Australian Academy of Science invites applications from Australian researchers for the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024.
The JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan provides opportunities for Australian postdoctoral researchers to conduct cooperative research with leading research groups in universities and other Japanese institutions, under the guidance of their Japanese hosts. The program aims to help such researchers advance their own work, while contributing to the advancement of research in Japan and the counterpart countries.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified researchers in any field of the physical sciences, life sciences, engineering, technology, and medicine. Strongly desirable and desirable research sub-fields are listed on the Academy’s application website.
Applications close at 5.00pm AEDT Monday 15 January 2024.

Honours individuals in the fields of cosmology, genetics and neuroscience, whose groundbreaking work provides new models that inspire and enable fundamental shifts in knowledge and culture: US$500,000 for each category.

The award recognises those who have accomplished scientific and technological achievements that have brought progress to science and benefit to mankind: US$10,000.

Awarded to people who have made outstanding scientific achievements within the area of environment and sustainability: SEK$1.5 million (approximately A$215,000).

Nominations received from the public to recognise people who have contributed above and beyond to the Australian community or humanity at large. To encourage diverse representation of the community, nominations of women are being sought.
Rolling deadline – appointments to the Order of Australia are announced on Australia Day and on the King's Birthday public holiday in June.
Awarded across seven disciplines of science: chemistry, computer and cognitive science, Earth and environmental science, electrical engineering, life science, civil and mechanical engineering, and physics: US$250,000.
