Submission—Future Made in Australia Bills 2024
On 31 July 2024, the Academy made a submission to the Australian Government's Future Made in Australia Bill 2024 and Future Made in Australia (Omnibus Amendments No. 1) Bill 2024 .

In its submission, the Academy:
- recommends scientific evidence and the science sector are explicitly included as critical inputs to both the identification of sectors and the development of sector assessments
- welcomes the commitment to addressing climate change and decarbonisation as part of an Australian made future through amendments to the Australian Renewable Energy Agency Act 2011
- recommends the Diversity in STEM Review final recommendations and the Women in STEM Decadal Plan inform the application of the Community Benefit Principle to develop more skilled inclusive workforces.
