Applications now open: research grants, travelling fellowships, conference funding

The Academy has opened applications for research grants, travelling fellowships and research conference support for 2017–18. The closing date is 15 June 2016.

Close to $230,000 will be offered by the Academy in 2017 for scholarships and support for research in medical science; endangered Australian native vertebrate animals; history of science; population and environment; and marine, soil and plant biology.

Travelling fellowships totalling close to $100,000 will be offered to overseas scientists to visit Australian research centres and deliver national lecture tours.

Applications are also invited for 2017 and 2018 research conference support including the Boden Research Conference in the Biological Sciences; the Elizabeth and Frederick White Research Conference in the physical sciences; and the Fenner Conference on the Environment. The funding available for these three conferences is up to $30,000 in total.
