The second Falling Walls Lab Australia will take place on 12 September 2017 at the Shine Dome in Canberra, hosted by the Australian Academy of Science in partnership with the Embassy of Germany in Canberra, the German–Australian Chamber for Industry and Commerce, the Royal Society Te Apārangi and the Embassy of Germany in Wellington.
Falling Walls Labs take place globally throughout the year. The winners of each international Falling Walls Lab qualify for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, which is held every year on 8 November.
Falling Walls Lab Australia will be an inspiring innovation forum, and will provide a platform for 25 excellent young researchers and social scientists, academics, entrepreneurs and professionals, from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Island Forum (PIF) Nations, across all disciplines, to present their research work, business model, innovative project, social initiative or idea in front of peers and a distinguished audience from academia and business. It is fast-paced and challenging: each participant has just 3 minutes on stage.
The panel of seven eminent judges from academia, business, government and finance will select the winner of this event. This distinguished jury will be chaired by Dr Charles Day, CEO of the Office of Innovation & Science Australia.
This event is open to anyone, and entry is free. However, we suggest you book early as seats are limited and will fill quickly. Deadline extended to 5pm Thursday 7 September.
