How does scientific and legal decision-making and certainty compare? How is expert scientific evidence presented and treated in the courts? What differences exist between the scientific assessment of evidence and the assessment of evidence by the courts?

These are just some of the questions that will be explored by a leading panel of judicial officers and scientists at the inaugural joint symposium of the Australian Academy of Science and Australian Academy of Law.
