Hello EMCRs! We hope you are all managing to take regular breaks from your intense activities and... breathe!

In this Issue of the EMCR Pathways we farewell the former editors, Emma Beckett and Yee Lian Chew, and welcome the new ones—Raffaella Demichelis, Mary McMillan and Maithili Sashindranath. We thank Emma and Yee Lian for serving in this role with high commitment, we will try our best to match their high standard.

In this newsletter, our outgoing Chair Michael Bowen reflects on the past year and on how the EMCR Forum is evolving to respond to the challenges that have arisen. Thank you, Michael, for inspiring us with your perspectives! We also welcome a new cohort of Executive members, who share their background and motivation to join the EMCR Forum. They are all already engaged with various initiatives, using their enthusiasm to power up the work of the Forum.

Then, we go on the job with Agriculture and Food Senior Research Scientist Vivien Rolland. As a tribute to Women’s History Month—and Women’s Day—Raffaella Demichelis tells the story of two unstoppable women in STEM, of how they crossed her path and influenced her career. Our wise Agony Aunt then addresses a problem affecting all EMCRs all over the world: over-commitment!

Last but not least, our amazing Project Manager Laura Navarro shares a summary of what the Forum has been up to in the last few months.

Remember to get in touch if you would like to contribute to any of these sections, have an EMCR group or event you would like to see featured, or have a question for our Agony Aunt.
