Image Description
Professor Christine Beveridge is known for her work on the hormonal control of plant development including the discovery of strigolactones as a new plant hormone. Her research has advanced understanding of how plant hormones and sugar signalling control shoot branching which underpins the yield, productivity and ornamental value of crops, trees and shrubs. Her recent work combines biological discovery with advanced mathematics to model and predict phenotypic outcomes of genetics, physiology and environment. With such broad collaborations, Christine hopes to help improve breeding pipelines and to enhance rates of genetic gain in crop improvement
