Awards and opportunities
Central to the purpose of the Academy is the recognition and support of outstanding contributions to the advancement of science. The honorific awards recognise outstanding contributions to the advancement of science at the early, mid and career level and career awards recognise life-long achievement. The Academy also supports scientists to undertake research projects, travel and deliver lectures at a national and international level.

Australia–India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) Early- and Mid-Career Fellowships
The AISRF Fellowships enable Australian researchers to undertake collaborative research with prominent Indian institutions, strengthening enduring partnerships in science, technology and innovation between the two countries.

Australia–Vietnam Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Initiative (AVSTICI) Grants
The Australia–Vietnam Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Initiative provides up to A$1.3 million in funding to support eligible Australian organisations to undertake collaborative research projects with Vietnamese universities, research institutes, businesses and industry partners.

Science at the Shine Dome 2026 Diversity and Inclusion Grant
The Australian Academy of Science Diversity and Inclusion Grants are designed to allow everyone the opportunity to attend Science at the Shine Dome, reducing practical barriers to attendance by contributing to additional eligible costs associated with caring responsibilities or accessibility requirements.
