Professor

Bertil Andersson

FAA

Bertil Andersson
Image Description
With distinguished intellectual scholarship and superb research ability, Professor Bertil Andersson is an authority in photosynthesis, particularly the molecular organization of photosystem II complex. His novel research with two-phase aqueous polymer systems led to proof of a lateral heterogeneity in the distribution of photosystems I and II between the stacked and unstacked domains of photosynthetic membranes. Following a post-doctoral fellowship in Australia, two study leaves and numerous visits, he continually fostered links between Sweden and Australia by having Australians in Swedish laboratories, and sending even more Swedes to Australia. He has a passion and dedication for plant sciences, coupled with an enthusiasm for Australia, and is pre-eminent in Swedish scientific hierarchies.
